16" Five - X  Shingles

100% Edge Grain. 100% All Clear. 100% Heartwood

A shingle, thinner than a shake, is cut tapered and smooth sawn on both faces
for a neat, tailored appearance.

They are cut in a choice of three lengths:

16" called Five-X. The thickness is 5/2"

18" called Perfections. The thickness is 5/2".

24" called  Royals. The thickness is 4/2".

Number 1 Grade shingles are used for both roofing and sidewall applications.

24" Hand-Split / Re-Sawn Heavy Hollywood Shake

The Hand-Split / Re-Sawn Shake is sawn on the backside and it's face split with the natural grain of the Redwood, giving the shake a highly textured surface on the exposed face. This gives the roof a very rugged and rustic appearance.

It is cut from clear heartwood, with no defects.
The shake is 3/4" at the butt and is cut in two lengths,
18" and the desirable 24" shake.

24" Tapersawn Shake

Both faces are sawn; like that of a shingle, but the cut is thicker.

This shake has the naturally tailored look of a shingle but is complimented by the sharp shadow line of a shake, caused by the thicker butt.

It is cut from clear heartwood, with no defects.

This shake is 5/8" thick at the butt and is cut in two  lengths

Cut in the same manner as the Heavy Hollywood Shake above, the Medium Hand-Split / Re-Sawn Shake is just cut thinner.

This shake gives the roof a very textured appearance.

The Medium Hand-Split Re-Sawn Shake is cut from clear heartwood, with no defects.

This Shake is 1/2" thick at the butt and is cut in two lenghts
